Pinnacle introduces its new ultra compact HDTV tuners, the PCTV HD mini Stick for PC and the TV for Mac HD mini Stick. Basically the two tuners are the same but for different platform. They make use of the USB 2.0 interface for connection and power.
The two tuners both support digital over-the-air TV (ATSC1) and unencrypted digital cable TV (ClearQAM). It offers 1080p output and the TimeShifting function that turn your PC into a PVR. It can also automatically encode record shows in MPEG-1/2 or DivX4 formats in hard drive, or direct-to-DVD.
The two HD mini Sticks will come with an integrated signal booster that improves sensitivity for over-the-air HDTV reception.
The PCTV HD mini Stick will be include the Pinnacle TVCenter Pro 5 PVR software for PC while the TV for Mac HD mini Stick has the Elgato EyeTV Lite.
Available in 21 September, the PCTV mini Stick tuner will be at $119.99. You have to pay $10 extra for the TV for Mac HD mini Stick.
