Sony officially announced the DMX-WL1 Wireless Link module to BRAVIA HDTV sets. Sony DMX-WL1 is a two-piece system that is able to transmit HD video and audio from up to five HD sources to BRAVIA HDTV, thanks to the WHDI technology. This set of Wireless module comprise of a receiver, which is to be attached to the back of TV and a transmitter that is used to connect with HD sources.
Other than the Wireless Link module, Sony introduces also the DMX-DVD DVD Link Module and the DMX-SW1 Input Link Module. The former brings full-featured upscaling DVD player functionality directly to the TV sets. It can upscale DVDs up to 1080p resolution. The DMX-SW1 offers BRAVIA TVs four more HDMI inputs.
Sony’s DMX-WL1 Wireless Link will be available in October for $800 while the DMX-DVD DVD Link Module and the DMX-SW1 Input Link are available now for $200 and $150 respectively.
